A staple of Portoviejo! I've been going to El Galpon since I can remember, when they used to be at another location. Now that I live abroad I can not leave Portoviejo without going to El Galpon. Their menestra, selections of meats and their chimi sauce is one of a kind and cannot be copied. As a foreigner i love the fact that you can pull up and walk in to your own private table separated by some "walls" which gives you a bit of privacy for you and your guests.

Excellent service. Well staffed. Thank you Javier (our server) It's a sort of fun Drive-in concept at work here. Instead of eating in your car they supply you with all the amenities. I read some reviews where some complained about pricing. Overall, the feeling of comfort and safety trumps whatever qualms you might have about pricing. The food is straight forward and taste good. Eventually a dinner for four (bevs included) cost me 32. Definitely worth it. Will be back soon.
